– By #Cassi Severson
Meet one of our 2020 AHEC Scholars! This month we are excited to feature Meghan Fedele, BSN-RN, who is a graduate of the University of South Dakota nursing program in Rapid City.
Meghan Fedele
University of South Dakota
I recently graduated from the University of South Dakota with my BSN-RN. I also have an Associate degree in Allied Health that I received from WDT in 2017. I work for Monument Health in the Rheumatology department. I am a single parent to my beautiful daughter. Some things I enjoy are painting rocks, playing softball, and hanging out at the lake. I do hope to continue my education in the future and become a nurse practitioner in the Mental Health field.
We are excited that Meghan chose to be a part of AHEC Scholars and appreciate the perspective and knowledge she brings to the cohort! The AHEC Scholars program is designed for college-level health profession students interested in supplementing their education by gaining relevant knowledge and experiences in rural and underserved areas of SD. Program activities cover the following six Core Topics: Interprofessional Education, Behavioral Health Integration, Social Determinants of Health, Cultural Competency, Practice Transformation, and Current and Emerging Health Issues.
