Monthly AHEC Scholar Profile - June 2025

My name is Brittany Pullen.  I am currently an LPN and pursuing my RN.  I wanted to become a nurse after my stepdad lost his battle with cancer in 2015.  I knew I wanted to help people, and with being a mom to a special needs child, I wanted to be able to provide the resources and have the knowledge to take care of my son. I am a wife and a mom to 3 small children. My husband was active-duty military most of our marriage, so we moved around quite a bit.  We have since made a home here in the Black Hills where my husband grew up and now services as a police officer with Rapid City PD. What I hope to get out of the Scholar program is insight to more local healthcare facilities and natural and holistic medications and what they have to offer to our community.
